The Quality Mark standards have been set by representatives of the meat industry at all levels through to retail. The Quality Mark label appears only on meat which has achieved these standards, and the label assures customers that the beef and lamb they purchase is of a consistently high standard.

The Quality Mark Logo is a black yellow & red rosette that features on beef & lamb which has met the highest quality standards. By choosing beef and lamb displaying the Quality Mark, you are assured that standards have been met including leanness, tenderness and food safety requirements. 

The Quality Mark carries the National Heart Foundation's "Pick the Tick", which means beef and lamb wearing the Quality Mark has met the Foundation's requirement for being low in fat (no more than 5mm of external fat).
